Hi, I’m Dean Bolton, Co-Founder and Chief Architect of LicenseFortress. I wanted to thank our customers for their continued support and loyalty. 2020 was a challenging year for many businesses faced with difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic — yet fortunately, we’ve still experienced rapid growth. We have customers worldwide, but we are still looking to find that one customer in Antarctica to say we are on all seven continents.
Originally part of VLSS, a consultancy founded in 2005 with a focus on Oracle and VMware technologies, LicenseFortress was spun out as a standalone company in October 2017. LicenseFortress now focuses on Oracle software asset management, delivering a combined solution of real-time monitoring of systems and a team of license-compliance experts aimed at helping organizations manage their license investment while removing the threat of being out of compliance.
Customers investing in the LicenseFortress solution, on a wide range of Dell Technologies servers, converged and hyper-converged infrastructure options, will benefit from continuous license management which includes real-time monitoring and alerts to help them avoid violations to license agreements and costly fees associated with compliance audits. Software compliance audits can easily cost companies into the tens of millions of dollars, and the average LicenseFortress customer saved $2.9 million with a LicenseFortress subscription. LicenseFortress helps customers achieve greater savings for customers licensing.
We are excited to announce our headquarters has relocated to the LA region, where we will have access to more of the industry’s top technical talent. Through a combination of our West and East coast locations, we are better able to serve our expanding global customer base.

Straight Talk On Oracle Licensing & Licensing Trends
As our organization’s software infrastructure continues to stretch between on-premise, public clouds, and hybrid clouds, keeping it in compliance is more challenging than ever. Plus, getting straight answers from vendors on the proper way to license software isn’t always easy. (Some have even turned software license audits into a revenue generator!) This session will cover software license trends in this cloud-fueled world, the difference between Oracle policy and your contractual obligations, licensing Oracle on a virtualized environment, lessons learned, and steps every organization should take to stay in license compliance and not be the victim of their next software license audit. Many of the lessons learned will apply to all major software vendors.
